WEBINAR: Women’s Health Conference

Women’s health has always been a concern to many, but currently this has reached alarming heights with the increasing rates of non- communicable diseases such as cancer, heart disease, type two diabetes and strokes amongst other diseases. Sexual and reproductive health is also among notable health issues that require urgent and consistent monitoring. However, many
obstacles still hinder women especially in Africa where issues such as maternal health, unwanted pregnancies are still rife due to lack of government support, inadequate resources, persistent discrimination against women and girls, and an unwillingness to address issues related to sexual health openly and comprehensively is impacting negatively on the progress to addressing obstacles related to women’s health.

With the progression of the 4th Industrial Revolution within different sectors, women’s health has not been spared. There is need for education and investment in women’s health as this would go a long way in alleviating these negative outcomes.

The one day conference aims to discuss the latest innovations, developments, improvements, techniques and advances in
view of women’s health. Issues regarding maternal health e.g. conception and fertility, pregnancy, post-natal depression, birthing options, workplace policies and issues to do with women and cancer, medical aid, maternal mortality, alternative medicine, menstruation, menopause, family planning will also be discussed at the conference.
